It’s New Year’s Eve and I am sitting with my dearest friend, Mollie at Rustica Bakery on a very cold Minnesota morning (9 degrees cold). Mollie and I have been friends for 10 years- time flies! Today we met so she could help me start my Generous Acts Blog! To my surprise- she had been waiting to share exciting news of her own! The photo of us says it all- this is a picture of Mollie reading at my wedding. The look that is captured in the photo is my appreciation and love for her. She continues to inspire me by her positive attitude, laughter, and willingness to help others.
Why the blog? Why Generous Acts? Why NOT- eh? It all started at my Baptiste Training; Level 3. I arrived at the training feeling run down and sad. Before leaving for the training- I announced I was closing my yoga studio; Sigh Yoga. Throughout the week- I started feeling happier; at peace. Susanne Conrad (www.igolu.com) was apart of our training and she sparked a light in me. She spent the entire week speaking about living our life’s purpose, writing our 10 year vision and then translating our 10 year vision into 1,5 and 10 year goals. So- as a result; I got inspired about living my life from a place of service! My favorite quote by Gandhi “be the change that you want to see in the world” became my mantra! One of my 10 year goals is to watch my documentary, Generous Acts, at the Sundance Film Festival! Susanne gave me advice on living NOW with my 10 year goal in mind; which is the reason behind my blog- Aha!
Under the Category “Generous Acts”- I will post on my 12 month campaign of doing random generous acts. I created a few rules around my generous acts. No monetary exchange can happen. In other words- I can’t buy a random cup of coffee for someone in line, give money to someone randomly type of thing; you get the picture. I have ZERO expectations behind this- this stems from my mantra of “being the change that you want to see in the world”
Enjoy and Happy New Year!

I love this, Brandyn! How can I help? <3
Hi Kelley
Thanks for checking out my blog!!! I’m not sure yet – maybe spreading my blog! Maybe you want to be on my documentary team? We make a great team!
Amazing, Brandyn! I would love to help, too! xoxo.
Thank you Erin! I will keep you posted on how you can
Thanks for reaching out and saying hello!
Miss you, Happy New Year!
I love your idea and love even more that you are taking action on it. Yay! I saw a video on Facebook recently that I can’t seem to find again of random acts of kindness being spread like wild fire from those who witness them. Contagious! Have you seen it?
I haven’t seen it Karin! If you come across it- please let me know.
Let’s have a girls night before the end of the month! Shoot me a text with some dates that work for you in a few weeks
Awesome Brandyn. I really believe that contribution is a force that can change worlds. Your blog reminds me of a site I came across in the summer http://www.deliberateactsofkindness.com/ It’s kind of a neat little idea. I look forward to following your journey …. to infinity and beyond!!

Wow Anna! This is so awesome!!!! I love writing the cards and notes! I enjoyed going to the post office yesterday, picking out cool stamps and watching all the letters and cards fall in the “stamped mail” slot! It’s the little things that bring so much joy! Have fun writing!!!
